A Two-Part Workshop with Maui Grown 808

Part 1: Learn Hana Lei Kahiko or Traditional Lei Making (No needle or thread) to make that special gift for Mom (and the special people in your ‘ohana!) using two common traditional methods, and flora that can be found in your own backyard! A perfect time to craft and create, in a beautiful farm setting with a view. Also a fabulous reason to get together and share with friends! Healing, positivity and beauty! (10:00 am – 12:00 pm)

Attendees will be welcomed to the workshop with a thoughtfully crafted non-alcoholic beverage from Coco’s Beverage Cart Maui. Choose either a Botanical Fizz (pineapple, cucumber, citrus, thai basil, mint, bubbly) or a Lilikoi Crush (lilikoi, vanilla, coconut, ginger, bubbly)! Join us to enjoy a special golden-hour workshop featuring local small businesses.

Part 2: And where do we put all these fabulous Lei? In our own hand woven Lei Basket! Using coconut leaves we will weave a flat basket carrier specially designed to hold your Lei that can be re-used again and again for future special occasions! (12:30 pm – 3:00 pm)

All Materials Provided: Students will be provided with all necessary materials, but are encouraged to bring their own flora to experiment with.

BYOB: Attendees are invited to bring their favorite beverages to enjoy during the class. Beer and Wine are welcome. Water, ice, glassware, and wine openers will be provided at the venue.

Location: Relax and enjoy the panoramic views of West Maui from our event deck, located at 700 Punakea Loop, Lahaina, HI 96761. Check in at 9:45 AM.
